Stay in your comfort zone or face your fear.
It's your choice, but you can't have both. Ever!
And if you're going to face your fear, Taryn Abrahams reminds us that done is better than perfect.
And if you make a mistake because you faced your fear, you're meant to learn something, here and now, so get the most from it. Like a sponge, we should soak up all of the lessons in each experience, every time.
We can stay comfortable and get more of the same, or we can be bold and courageous and maybe, just maybe get more! We certainly won't if we don't face our fears.
With each risk, we get new insight, build resilience, and gain wisdom. Sometimes lots of wisdom. But we always learn something.
My favorite line from this conversation is "There's a reason there's not a 21 year old CEO." Hmm, I've never thought of it that way. You can't rush the process but…
You can hurry up and keeping facing those fears so you can have more, sooner. And then, we, on this special planet, get to benefit from that!
Finally, remember, there's always something bigger at play. Listen closely and honor that. Then remain laser focused as you face your fears. It’s scary, but as Glennon Doyle reminds us “we can do hard things.” We can. We do it everyday.
